I have an NFA trust that includes my wife and two daughters. Younger of two, born/raised in U.S., now lives in Trinidad and is seeking her residence papers there, which is a bureaucratic nightmare, at minimum. She will maintain her U.S. citizenship.
That said, I would like to pick up two additional suppressors, including my current trust members. My question is this: would the security investigation process cause or bring attention to her in such a manner that might put her application for Trini residence at risk? Could remove her from trust, if absolutely necessary, but would prefer to keep her on.
    Any guidance greatly appreciated.

That shouldn't impact her residency application according to my ATF friends. According to them, the Trust is just reviewed to make sure it appears to be valid, and the Responsible Persons listed on the Trust have the RP forms filled out. BUT, to maintain her on your next 2 suppressor purchases, she will need to fill out a Responsible Person form, a set of 2 fingerprint cards, 2 passport photos, and then sign the Responsible Person form(s) for each purchase. Headache paperwork, but should be GTG.

Thank you very much for the input. She’s passed two FBI checks in the past, but I in no way want to jeopardize the process she’s trying to get through, as it’s normally a 3 year review for residency in Trinidad, fraught with potential bureaucratic delays, and she’s 1.5 yrs into it. Thx.

Wow, not a lawyer but I thought I had a pretty good handle on BAFTE issues. Sounds like consultation with a lawyer with immigration expertise would be in order regarding risk of issues for anything that would jeopardize completion of prioritizing a successful residency process. You could always add the younger family member later to the trust, why potentially complicate the process ?

Both daughters and wife are on trust, which currently owns one suppressor, in total. Not entirely familiar with the process of removing her and adding back later. Trying to keep this as simple as possible, without delaying either of our applications. Daughter’s process is first priority.

Just add an amendment to the trust removing her as a responsible person. It's simple, easy, and reversible in the future. If she's living out of the country anyway, what good is it for her to be on the trust anyway? Skip the headache.
