Moving up from a probably 20 year old Harris bipod. It does not have any cant or pan ability.

I’ve heard the atlas is where it’s at with regards to those two features.

What specific model would you recommend, I need it to Mount on key mod or possibly a 1913 rail.

If you know of a source for a good deal, would also appreciate the link.

Thanks

I recently made the upgrade from Harris to Atlas. I ended up with a PSR from the black Friday sale and it's been great. CAL makes the most sense though, as pan likely wouldn't be used often and it has a slightly wider footprint which should be more stable.

Right now there aren't many deals on Atlas as their product is in high demand and has a fair amount of lead time. If you want the pan feature PSR is the way to go; if you don't CAL. We just got a shipment and have both in stock, and while I can't offer a discount I will ship UPS at no charge.

Atlas bipods are worth the money, but only buy from Atlas. A few years back I bought an Atlas from a dealer, then after a few months was having issues, called the manufacture and sent in pics, only to be told it was not real, it was a knockoff, so be careful who you buy from. Atlas CS is top notch and helped put me into a real one without to much pain to the wallet....

Yes there are knockoffs out there and one should be weary of especially discounted products but there are plenty of legit Authorized Dealers for Atlas, us included. If you're not sure who to buy from SnipersHide supporting vendors are a great place to start.

Also, other advantage to buying from a dealer- we only sell what we have in stock, no backorders. My lead time from Atlas is running about 7 weeks- I'd bet if you bought direct it would be about the same. If I have it in stock I can ship immediately.

When I run my CAL in prone the legs are fully deployed, that being the case I would think the tall height could be more versatile. Then again height is shooter specific, your body type and rifle setup dictates what height is going to be most comfortable in prone for you. That also doesn’t take into account if you are not shooting on groomed ranges and would need to set up a shot from a sitting position. For my use case, I have a tripod for anything above prone.

The shortest my tall call goes is plenty low for me plus I can kick the legs out a notch and make it even lower if needed even though I never really do. Then I have a lot of height from there which I’ve found more valuable then how short the standard height can go. I’m 6’2” with a pretty long wing span, no big belly or anything to overcome just like to be up a little in prone which the lowest setting on the tall is perfect for.

CAL with PSR Legs
Roger that. It looks like that combo is one of the Atlas CAL bipods with the better legs made of 7075 aluminum instead of 6160?...

There are three models that fit that criteria- the BT69, BT69-NC (no clamp provided), and the BT69- LW17 with KMW PodLoc. All three have a height range of about 6" - 12". (The other three CALs, a little shorter, don't come with the PSR/7075-T6 legs).
