Aero precision m5e1 with JP barrel issue

There absolutely is play, that's why the bolt carrier can't push the bolt too far forward and when the chamber pressure pushes the case head and the bolt back, the bolt lugs gets stopped by the barrel extension lugs before the bolt can push back on the bolt carrier.

I'm running out of ways to explain this. I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot.

A headspace GO gauge just checks the chamber for minimum size, that doesn't mean the bolt face can't go further forward on an empty chamber.

The thing that stops the bolt face going forward on a loaded chamber is the brass unless the brass is grossly undersized.

Even if your chamber is minimum headspace and will just barely close on a GO, there is still slop in the chamber if the brass is properly sized.

If your barrel nut is loose and your barrel moves forward, it doesn't change headspace, it just reduces that amount of slop until it goes to zero and then the bolt won't be able to enter the barrel extension far enough to cam over and that will stop the bolt carrier leaving the firing pin too short to get to the bolt face and thus the primer. That means it won't fire.

You would probably see very poor accuracy and a wobbly barrel/handguard before it got that far.

Well then to prove it, loosen your barrel retention nut and fire ur gun. Good luck with that. Let us know how it goes. Done arguing with u.
