    Hello Hide members,

This is no way meant to bash AI or Euro Optics in any way they have been excellent.

I purchased a new "Show room demo" AI AT 308 from Euro Optics. I was told the gun was new and unfired. I understand firearm manufactures often test fire guns before shipping them out for sale. I just took possession of it and have not fired it. Does this look normal or excessive?

    Thanks!

Stupid question. Do the ATs still come with a lothar Walther barrel? Those I know are test fired. I bought an AT years ago from Euro Optics the caliber marking was on the wrong side and upside down. I spoke with them and they had AI call me about it. Said the barrel probably didn't pass test fire and they probably replaced it with an already chambered barrel of the shelf that had passed the test. I didn't care because it was an extremely accurate barrel.

I'm not sure. I thought it was a Lothar.

Thanks for the replies folks. I did call EO and was told to call back tomorrow. Like I said they have been excellent. I'm probably over thinking this. It's my first Ai purchase and wasn't sure, I was looking for feedback from the SH community.

Otherwise it's a beautiful rifle and my first bolt action although I'm no stranger to guns. Ai AT 308 20in with folding stock. I'm leaning towards the ATACR 4-16x50 F1 MIL-XT

Well it certainly looks like you're entering into the world of bolt actions in the right way... Wish I was as smart as you!

Haha thank you! I've always wanted a nice bolt action rifle. I took my time and saved my pennies, ended up with this. The 308 is more common/affordable, the AT price point was also more accessible. The 20in fits nicely in my Pelican im3200 and my safe. I wanted something good to go right out of the box, not looking to upgrade parts. This checked all the boxes. It's my understanding the AT offers less features but still offers the same level of quality of the more expensive models.

It's a great rifle. You will enjoy it. The only thing I would recommend is when you get your scope mounted and your cheek spacer set to the height you like. Buy the spacers and the grippy check rest pad from Victor company. I would recommend the thumb screw adjusters for your check rest but with the foldable stock you won't have to remove it to clean the rifle.

Thank you I'm really looking forward to it! Thanks for the info! I'll look into those parts.
