I am just in the process of fine tuning my AW trigger group and have found a slight creep just before the trigger lets off. The trigger is set to break at a consistent 2.5 pounds. The creep is less noticeable as the sear engagement screw on the trigger itself is turned out, however there is more of a "take up" or slack on the first stage. Are you guys running the trigger set up as two stage or do you find it feels better set up as single stage....... I suppose its personal preference. Thanks.

Re: AI AW trigger

The AW is a 2 stage trigger by default from the factory. This is a pretty important part of the safety specs on the rifle.

It's designed that way so that it maitains a large sear engagement until you take up the first stage.

I'd leave it that way as if you try to adjust it down to a 1 stage trigger you might have some unintended consequences, such as the rifle possibly going off if the bolt is slammed down hard or the rifle gets hit hard.

It's very easy to get used to with just a little bit of practice and the advantage is that you have a very light trigger touch on the second stage but it still maintains a rugged degree of protection against accidental firing due to drops or strikes.

90% of the time when I see a gun go down or start to act funny it's because someone thought they could outsmart the factory and make an excellent field gun a benchrest rifle.

+1000. It's a two stage trigger. I wouldn't mess with it.

Re: AI AW trigger

I agree. I just got back from the range from shooting my second AW. The trigger is consistant with my original rifle. It's also very forgiving as set up from the factory. That's the beauty of the AI rifle system. Gun to gun, trigger to trigger, etc. they perform great and consistant.

Leave it alone and just shoot it and enjoy. They get better with time and practise. (Well maybe we get better with practise, the rifle stays the same)

Re: AI AW trigger

I have adjusted mine a number of times and always end up going back to the original factory settings. While it is not the lightest trigger out there, I think it is perfect.
