AI AXSR Long Term Thoughts?

I have sold my 6 dasher prs rifle and am attempting to do all competitions with the axsr. So far I’ve shot 3 prs one day matches, legion sniper match and an ELR match.

My prs scores are nearly the same as with the dasher. My hit percent average is 75% (76,73,78) in the three matches I’ve shot this year. The only things I really notice are the heavier bolt lift and the way the forearm interacts with a game changer bag. Neither of these things are bad, just different than the dasher I had. It was a Zeus in an envy pro.

The more I shoot it the more I like it.

Has anyone tried to get their axsr down to 16 pounds for an NRL hunter match?

I'm also interested if anyone has used an AXSR in a hunter match. Maybe with an 18.5" CF 6.5 Creedmoor barrel? It would be nice to have the option, but I'm guessing a ZCO 5-27 or S&B 6-36 would most likely put it over 16lbs...

It’s an incredibly versatile platform. Having nearly all the AI models, it’s my favorite to shoot. If you plan on buying one, make it sooner than later. Prices creeped up on them, and I suspect they will again in January.

If I were you, I would plan on buying all the bolts and mags. Makes it easier to shoot new calibers later if your shooting situations change.

Barrel has about 1200 rounds on it and shoots great.

18” .308 proof barrel.
Had some old 175 nosler cc loaded up in mixed head stamp brass for another gun and shot the first 10 in about a 1” group, the next ten were about 3/4” and the last ten were around a 1/2”.
The short barrel looks cool, still weighs 17.9# as it is in the picture.
