Gunsmithing AI Barrel Reamer specs for 260, 6XC and 6.5CM

Are you looking to duplicate them? There's a huge knowledge base out there for the cartridges youre asking about, no need to get the super sneaky stuff. It isn't special, it's just theirs.

I appreciate the reply. I suspected that they aren't "super sneaky" or necessarily proprietary. But yes I want the cut chambers to those specs.

so does anyone one have the knowledge or can point me to where to look

Dave Tooley and Dave Manson are VERY good friends. Which means that it is very likely that Dave Tooley has these reamers from Dave Manson.

Just call Dave Manson Precision Reamers and order what you want.

.260: domestic brass, loaded neck .290-.291, reamer neck .294.
lapua brass, loaded neck .295, reamer neck .298

.080 freebore for standard bullets (tangent ogive)
.060 freebore for Vld's (secant ogive)
I bought the domestic brass version of this (.295 neck .080 freebore) years before lapua .260 came out. If i was doing it again, id do the .298/.060 version. I dont see it happening, as the CM will do everything this will with a much wider array of good brass.

6.5 CM: .291 loaded neck, .296 reamer neck with lapua hornady or Peterson brass (within .0005 in loaded neck OD)
.199 freebore (saami 6.5 cm, PTG print # 10618). Every smith has this, and its a good chamber. Freebore isnt so critical because the CM has a much longer neck than the .260, and lots of space in the magazine.

6XC: Norma/Tubb brass, .270 loaded neck, .273 reamer neck. 148 freebore. (D.Tubb's reamer, PTG print #42537). I shoot 115 dtacs out of this and it works great. Longer neck than the CM, but shorter overall in the magazine due to a shorter body.

For years there have been gun builders guarding their reamer specs....like old women guarding their cake recipes. Get your work done by a builder who will tell you what you're getting.
