AI shooters, what espresso machine(s) do you have?

Curious to know what Espresso machines y'alls have, or have had, and how you like them. I'm looking for a delayed house-warming present to myself.

I'm fine to have a separate grinder but would like combo Espresso maker and frother. My main use-case would be making a latte in the mornings and mornings + afternoons on the weekend. It's only me, so I don't really need the ability to pull shot after shot e.g. for a family.

I would prefer a semi-auto but would consider a bolt-action machine as well. Not really interested in the full-auto variety.

Not really too hung up on size/counter space.

I don't need to chase the absolute best latte available but if I could get into spittin' distance of even a SBUX latte I'd be happy with it.

I also want something that will last several years, not looking to replace this thing every year or two. I've definitely read on the coffee forums that for example Brevilles tend to wear out and you can't get parts for them.

I hear Savage is coming out with a Snipershide edition Espresso maker.
You just have to be patient and good at troubleshooting but makes one hell of an espresso

Wife and I are both serious coffee consumers. We generally use a Cuisinart grind 'n brew day to day. But if we get the urge, there's a Nespresso sitting next to it. But, I'm just a poor that shoots Tikka so take that for what it's worth.

I double-checked, he's cool with any one I choose as long as it doesn't impact the ammo budget.

I actually don't drink lattes daily, only on the weekends, but the option to have one before work if I want one would be nice. But most of my other bad habits have fallen by the wayside, so you never know...

Absolutely! I've been working on fundamentals, practicing my bean grinding and getting consistent, repeatable tamps. Dry practice for now but really getting the shot making process dialed in.

Man, my concrete skills and bow kills are low and not likely to improve anytime soon!

My 338 options will impress though. Currently in stable 338WM, 338NM, 338LM, and 338 Edge.

Well, I only shoot TRGs so my vote really doesn't count, but I use a hand pumped Wacaco Nanopresso..69 dollars on Amazon and works exactly like they say.(Seriously, I got this thing for camping and if any of you want an espresso maker you can backpack with, this thing is awesome.)

While I won't deny that "Kamira" thing is interesting, I've used a number of different 'machines' for our morning fixes. Started with a Mr.Coffee espresso machine that my mom gave us, then that graduated to a Krups machine. Used that for some years.

Then went to the Moka pot (with customizations) for a few years.

For the past few years now, we've been using the AeroPress. Thing is, we want as good a coffee on the boat, as we have here at home. So the system we use is the same, no matter where we are or travel to.

Now back to your regularly scheduled ridiculing and mayhem.

Forgot to add, lately I've been playing with the idea of creating our own process (simpler and faster) using nitrogen. One of our fine members here, got us onto the realm of roasting our own beans, so getting things the way we like it/them really can turn out a good mug. Couple all that with a simple and compact unit, definitely adds to the quality.

Man people either seem to love or hate these things. The biggest thing people harp on, aside from leaky O-rings, is the grinder & grind quality. Has yours been somewhat hit-or-miss or is it on point?

Also, what are you mostly making on it?

Never had any leaky o-rings, as far as the grinder goes it’s been tip top. The mistake most people make is they look for oily beans as a sign of quality… this couldn’t be farther from the truth, the oilier the beans, the longer they have been sitting after being roasted. Oily beans will gum up any grinder, you want to get the freshest beans you can find

Yeah it's a bit long in the tooth. Full disclosure it was my bosses he blew it up, I suspect he tried to put water in the container while attached to the coffee maker and while it was on and spilled water around the back of the container because the power supply board is right under the tank and it blew the traces right off the circuit board. As a poors I was happy to take it and fix it. A couple jumpers to complete the circuit and while it was apart I put new burrs and cleaned/ lubed the internals and it's been awesome for years. There's videos on some of the coffee sights on how to.

And who puts milk in coffee? I still prefer the percolator next to a fire, but I'm lazy so the Keurig the wife drug home works just fine inside the house.
