I have a couple questions for this group while on this topic
When guys are talking about balance: are you discussing the balance point of the rifle without input? What length barrel in what contour and with or without a can do you find it to balance well on a prop without you? What does your rifle overall weight end up being by the time you get it to this configuration that balances well?
With the ability to swap barrels so easily you can swap to a different barrel for a hunting purpose... So what is the lightest you can get either of these rifles when switching to skinny profile or carbon fiber barrels? I ASSUME that the ability to balance will be completely out the window once you switch either rifle to a lighter barrel though... Am I incorrect here?
Correct. They’ll all have different balance points to some degree. For reference, this is my 26” .308 barrel with a SilencerCo Omega. If I were to throw on my 300 Norma it will definitely be more off kilter than with a CF 6.5. But generally, the DTs really do have awesome balance points and feel because of the weight distribution.
