AIAE feeding issue

I'm seem to be having an issue with my AIAE Mk2 trainer in 308. I am using Factory 10rd mags and the first round from an open bolt seems to misfeed ocassionaly. My handloaded COAL is around 2.80. Anyone else have a similar experience?

What do you mean by misfeed? Do you have any pictures of it? Need more info.

The cartridge jams on the front of the feed ramp. I'm thinking i may have to measure the feed lip on my magazines.

Magazines are usually the weak link

Nose diving? Do the rest of the rounds feed, or is it a constant issue?

If it’s nose diving, it’s a pretty easy fix. Adjusting mag feed lips is pretty common on AI mags, someone should be along shortly to confirm or correct me.

So I measured the feed lip opening on a new magazine. The measurments revealed the front opening a few thosuands wider than the rear to raise the tip of the cartridge.
It was easier to make a gauge from a cartridge:


I placed the "gauge" in my other mags and tuned the opening as required:



Not the most elegant method.
