I bought my Remington SPS-V .308 back in January. I immediately threw it into an AICS stock and topped it with a Nightforce. A few months ago I sent my bolt to Kampfeld Custom in Michigan for a flute job and Badger knob installation. I also installed a Jewel trigger and had the stock inletted by a friend to fit the jewel properly. I also Duracoated the flip-up part of my scope caps to match the stock and increased the length of pull with an AI spacer kit.
After working up a good load it has shot 1/2 MOA consistently and I was ecstatic about that...it even got me a third place trophy at a 1,000 yard match. But three weeks ago, I decided I wanted more. So I gave my rifle to a local and very reputable gunsmith named Larry Marsh, ordered a barrel from Bruno's (great service by the way) and a muzzle brake, and now I have:

1" Shrewd Varmint Brake (Rear is turned down to match muzzle OD of .950")

Barrel and brake were bead blasted. I love that look. I haven't been able to do any sort of load developing as of yet, deer gun season started today in Ohio so I am tied up with that for the next few days.
I did break the barrel in on Sunday with some FGMM. That went well and the SS barrel is much better than my old barrel as far as copper fouling is concerned, there was virtually none. I shot three 5 shot groups at 100yds, but I pulled one round on each one!! I guess I was too excited or maybe it was because I haven't shot in almost 2 months, I dunno. Either way, the good news is that the other 4 rounds in each group were all in between .200"-.300" and the fliers were way out there so it's looking real good! The brake is also very efficient, it shoots like a baby now, no muzzle jump and a significant reduction in felt recoil...it feels like a completely new rifle.
