AICS Hand stop Picatinny Rail

Re: AICS Hand stop Picatinny Rail

I just went back to to the AICS, again, and was asking the same question.

I found a Magpul 7 slot polymer rail for about 10 bucks, pulled a KAC flush cup mount off of a carbine rail and put them under the AICS. It works great. I have been snapping in every night this week and have not had any issues under sling tension. I also placed the KAC mount very close to the bipod so the sling swivel can not make a full rotation and twist up the sling.

Accu-shot (of atlas bipod fame) makes a rail that fits the AI forend, then you could use a KAC handstop on it (the kind that is most often seen on the URX rails)

Bringing back an old post. I'm surprised to see people moving the sling mounts to the bottom. When I shoot sling-assisted, I currently use the stock clip-in sling mounts. Although I've never tried it, it seems to me that if I used a sling mount on the bottom, it would put a torque on the rifle that makes the rifle want to twist clockwise (for a right handed shooter). Does this happen? Maybe it's a GOOD thing?
