Hello Sniper's Hide,

I'm having some magazine issues with a new stick.
The smith didnt get a chance to fit ARC mags for me because apparently they were backordered.

I've tried P-mags, Alpha mag type 2's, and Ruger Gunsite scout mags. Only the GSR mags seem to fit. The other two's feed lips appear to be too tall, they lock in fine with the bolt open, but the bolt doesn't clear the lips. Neither the P-mags or the Alpha's will lock in with the bolt closed. My setup is a defiance deviant with APA bottom-metal.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It would seem the mag latch is too long and needs to be shortened.

Drive the pin out that retains it, being careful not to lose the spring.

File it down a bit at a time and reinstall it to check fit.

Pretty easy and doesn't take too much time.

Before filing and depending on the inlet job maybe you could put some washers between the bottom metal and stock to see if it’s a depth thing and see how much it needs to change before something’s permanent.

Nice that you are so kind to them. But, their quality is all over the place.
