Rifle Scopes Aimpoint Comp4 vs PRO

Looking for some experienced info. In the process of selecting an optic for a new AR15 and have it down to either the Aimpoint Comp4 or PRO. Do not see what the big advantage of the Comp4 is over the PRO to justify the difference in price.

I was at the same decision point two years ago. Went with the PRO over the M4 at the suggestion of a friend, who I respect his opinion due to background, and does demos for Aimpoint. It's a great optic and I now have two of them. The PRO does use "button" batteries, whereas the M4 uses AA. Batteries were a question, not a deal breaker, I was wary, but that was unfounded - no problems. I have now used the first PRO for a couple years, then added the second one last month. After using the PRO, I do not think the M4 is worth the extra $$$.

BTW, I procured both PROs off the "Optics for Sale" here on SH, not my friend.

I have an aimpoint pro. Awesome red dot for the money, especially when you figure in the nice QD mount and caps.

Good to hear from some one who knows. Streets tough will probably withstand the rigors of living in a safe between trips to the range and to the woods a few times a season.

Redmanss, well put on both statements. I would not hesitate taking a PRO to a real battlefield, but would much prefer the COMP M4. I have no reservations with my PROs.

I don't see where anyone broke it down, so I will. before I start I will say both are good optics, but the comp m4 is hands down better in most regards (it should be considering the price)

they are the same size and weight, but I will say, holding the aimpoint compm4 sights and the pro, the comp m4 even feels more robust to me personally. not to mention battery life, having a really common battery and more illumination settings. either optic would serve you well, I think it boils down to customers price point, if you can afford the comp m4 series, get it, if your budget is lower, get the pro.

I've got the PRO model on one of my ARs. It might not be as tough at the Comp4, but it's a hell of a lot tougher than I am.
