Has anyone fielded this adjustable mount? I'm interested in using it on my 300 blackout upper. I believe that the 7.62 version may be useful for the blackout round as the drop is similar to that of a 7.62. I've only read that this mount was designed for belt fed applications so I'm wondering how well it would perform on a point weapon.

I'm looking for an optic for the blackout that can go from up close (cqb distance) out to about 300, also needs to be adjustable for going back and forth from sub to super sonic. My other candidate is a Nighforce 1-4 with mildots; but at $1200 plus the mount this may be a more affordable solution (about $830 for Matech mount and Aimpoint). Also I could use my Aimpoint magnifier if I wanted magnification.

No, I was looking at my data for the 168 m852, and the out to 300 the drop is more similar than that of the 5.56.

Drop in inches:
7.62 168 / 300blk 123
100 0 / 0
150 -1.6 / -2.9
200 -11.9 / -8.8
250 -19.2 / -18.0
300 -28.3 / -31.2
350 -39.3 / -48.9

These are just numbers that I found and have not verified any of this data so if anyone has solid data, please chime in.

Expensive. I don't see the usefullness of putting a BDC knob on a T-1, even with a 3xMagnifier. I'd rather have a TA33 ACOG. People complained about the Elcan because it has the external elevation adjustments so I'm not sure I like this idea.

I like a red dot sight, and I need to be able to make adjustments for different rounds/ yards. However, the more I think about it the more I believe that these 100 yard adjustments may not be what I need. I may just have to pony up and get the Nightforce 1-4 with mil dots and 1 moa turrets.

Fwiw I've had one over the past year and it is mounted on a M240 (for which it was intended) -- works well -- dial a distance and smack some steel!

Recall High Caliber is a Aimpoint dealer and has access to these items -- but, as stated, the Matech mnt is not inexpensive.
