Rifle Scopes Aimpoint T1 replacement tips

I have an Aimpoint that the battery died. I cant get the cap off to replace it, any tips to remove a stubborn cap?

Forget it, I was just being wrench shy, it popped open with a hefty torque.

In the future mine always seemed to benefit from the push in and turn because of the gasket vs. just plain old trying to unscrew it.
