I went to a NRA Friends of the NRA Banquet last night. I was setting back watching as guns & other items were being auctioned like live stock. Imagine, auctioning guns.

That's not counting all the raffle guns laying on the tables. Put your ticket in the bucket for a chance to win a gun, hundreds of guns, all kinds.

Where else in the world can you see that.

One young lady, early 20s, who was assisting the auctioneer by holding up the gun or other items that were being sold got a little warm so she took off her jacket.

Get this, white blouse, dark slacks, belt with glittering sequence and in the small of her back a holster matching the belt with a little snub nose revolver.

One one raffle table was a ATF&E display, for $5 you got a 1 in 100 chance to win Alcohol (several bottles of booze) Tobacco (a couple boxes of fine cigars) Firearms (an M4 style AR with a suppressor, they paid the stamp) and Explosives, (exploding targets).

What other country can you have such events. I love this Country.

Re: Ain't America Great

I told myself that same thing the other day...

"Isn't this a great country!"

Because I was at my parents house, shooting my AR on their land. My rifle was still pretty hot, so I decided not to put it back in its case, and just to carry it out of the woods slung around my shoulder.

When I got outta the woods to my parents house, all I heard was "Hello", and this old lady (the neighbors daughter) was all smiles and waves!
I thought she would've flipped about me walking around with an "assault" rifle!

After I packed up and left, I just thought... "heh, I love where I live... shit, I love WI... shit I love America!!"

Cheesy story, I know

Its a Friends of the NRA Banquet, They are all over the place, simple by a ticket for the banquet (dinner) then buy tickets you put in different buckets for the drawings, or tickets to seperate raffles. There is normally a live auction and a silent auction. This is where the NRA gets the money to support ranges and shooting programs across the country.

Don't need an invite, just buy tickets. Around here you have to buy the tickets early cause the sell out fast.

Check the NRA website for a FNRA banquet near you.
