I have a WASR 10/63 with the side mount. Are there any good ak optics mounts out there? All I have ever seen is stuff made by UTG, and I dont trust airsoft makers to make parts for rifle that fires bullets. QD would be good if possible, for use of iron sights. I just want something to mount a red dot or 1-3 power.

Kalinkaoptics has a few. Buying a Russian-made red dot would probably be best, or a scout mount that goes on your gas tube.

is that scout mount something like this? This just looks like a quad handguard piece
I like the fact that if i went redot like that that it would be very low mounted. I have seen the quad forearm before but worried that they might cant or wiggle.

I've seen a "over the bore mount" that attached to the existing side mount. It's a 1913 rail that is inline with the bore instead of being off to the side. I'll try and dig up a link, you can then use a normal rifle scope/dot site instead of the Russian stuff.

yea what im really looking for is something like this
just not cheap chinese junk.
I do also like the forward mount if possible, but im not sure how stable it is. With it I could use a redot or scout scope with qd rings. I really mainly looking for the mount that used the rail on the side. I know the optics would be higher though, but i could go wiht a 1-3 like i want.

I just seen the preview. It would be interesting to see. Although Im not 100% sure but i am pretty positive that the 7.62x39 round goes subsonic before 1000 yards. It woudl be cool to see a precision ak though

I like the rs regulate mount. I like the fact you can co witness with the aimpoint. I just dont know if I want to put an aimpoint on it. I was prob just gonna put a bushnell TRS. It shows on their website that they have the one with two rings for a regular scope. that woudl be nice but they brownells doesnt actually sell it.

The $50 BP-02 mount can be modified easily for a lower and centered optic mount (credit: canonshooter). I use it with an Aimpoint M2 with zero problems. It's easily the best bang for the buck, holds zero, and doesn't crack under use like some of the aftermarket mounts.

If i go with a side mount( which is what im after) then probaly do the rsregulate, The vortex strikefire does not look like a bad option. it is not aimpoint but it is just for recreation and training.
