Member Link Up Alaska 50 BMG shooters

Mile post 94, ruff range still under some development but open to the public. I think they are still waiting for grant money for more development, FNRA supported and I believe they are their own chapter. As I understand, to use the 1000 you have to be a member and pass their test or a range officer has to be present on the range but I am not a spokesman so its best to contact upper su shooters for actual facts.

The valley range up near Hatchers is a no go due to politics. This would have been the best range around for all Alaskans with a shoot house, mile range and all the fun stuff but the politics and lack of citizen support doomed it, its doubtful it will be resurrected. It was to be used for instate military and LE training and this is what killed it along with its location as great idea with support until, not in my back yard.

Got to say, no need to use an established square range in Alaska for a grand or longer if that is what you are looking for but of course its not the days growing up either.

Its been a long time since I visited Birchwood but I shot with two APD swat teams members there once while they were training, really great guys and good tips but most times when local and federal LE are on a range, that range was closed but it did not effect the other ranges, but they treated me right especially APD....I wanted to run their course but due to politics, their training RO said not a good idea.

How do you like the Noreen?

have fun
