I'm a newbie ready to read and learn! I'll try to keep my questions to a minimum. Just started shooting firearms this winter. I took a NRA air rifle class and earned my Expert patch. This spring began shooting trap and I earned the NRA Distinguished Expert Pistol Patch. I've also applied for my CPL. I began shooting the NRA small bore course on Monday June 10th. A man at the class offered to let me shoot his rifle, I'd never seen a gun like that. I thought he might take me out to 100 yards since I'd never shot past 50 yards before. Nope he walked me out to 600 yards! I'd only shot with a scope once and I shoot left handed. However he had a thumb hole stock so I shot it right handed, the cheek rest wasn't set up for me, I didn't want to have him move it and mess him up so I did the best I could... I only took 6 shots, they are the ones marked in orange, 3-X's, 3-10's. He seemed very pleased, and I was thrilled! I can see why shooting long distances is so exciting! I can't wait to try it again!!!
