Just got done with a 30-06. It's a pure woods gun so I didn't do too much custom work on it. Its a basic Remmy 700. I did the little things myself, put on a Tac Ops bolt knob and put 3 screws in the bolt handle, it didn't really need it I just wanted to try it myself and it came it good. I textured the bottom metal for the hell of it and like it. I painted it with Flat OD over the factory finish. I had the action trued by the local smith. I ditched the plastic factory stock and put it in a Hogue, for the weather here it's a good option. Have to get some mounts for the scope, I'm thinking dednutz mounts

Re: Finished my 30-06 Hunter

Thanks guys I think when the barrel is no good I'm going to put a Sendero contour on it with flutes. It shoots fine now but feels too light, which I guess is not a bad thing when lugging it through woods all day

I've got a Zeiss 3.5-10x50 for it. It is in one of the pictures, the other is a 3-12x56 for my 308 build I have going on. I have to get the rings and base for the 30-06 scope still

Re: Finished my 30-06 Hunter

It is a fine shooting hunting rifle rifle, 3/4 to 1" consistently at 100 yards. I don't need anything better than that for where I hunt so I didn't put a whole ton of money into it. I'll have to get some targets next time I go to the range and post them here
