I'm shocked you lot haven't been trashing Alphas... kidding. David Strathairn is in need of a few Overactors Anonymous consultations but otherwise I'm liking this series. The most compelling character seems to be the autistic human EM antennae able to tap into radio, cell, tv, basically any artificially generated electro magnetic wave (perhaps naturally occurring as well though they haven't shown him reeling from a solar flare or gamma ray burst yet). Naturally I also find the Hicks character interesting. Admittedly, the very first scene of the series which includes an unbelievably complex sniper shot is literally unbelievable. The "shot" is taken from a rooftop on an adjacent building (approx. 30deg. slope, see link, slide 10 of 10) through an Outside Air grille then through the apparently almost perfectly sloped ductwork that would have to match the trajectory of the projectile to the room sidewall grille where it nicks an horizontal blade of the grille and ricochets smack dab in the victims brain bucket. The fact that the opposite side and contents of his noggin don't slime half of the small room they are in I chock up to a squeamish producer or low episode budget even though later episodes have some fairly grisly make-up/effects. Obviously I've only scratched the surface of what is realistically wrong with the shot but I'll let my Hide folk bruthuz devour the carcass. Oh, and Laura Menell is easy on the eyes as a smokin' hot "pusher" with the ability to push most peoples minds to do her bidding... and did I mention she's smokin' hot?

Re: Alphas... is Alright

I Like Alphas, not great but good.

I agree, the autistic kid is the best of the group, thought the hot mind bending chick is fun... the plot seems to be good playing out in an interesting way. The episode with the other Autistic girl who uses sound was interesting.

So far it is beating Torchwood which is moving incredibly slow.

Best part is Alphas rounds out Monday night with Eureka and W13.

You're probably expecting a wee bit too much from the 'small' screen. But your answer is curious. What do you mean by distracting? Too interesting not to watch but ultimately dissapointing? Only interesting to watch while reloading? You only watch it if you accidentally surf into it? I'm just messin' with you.
