I will be duracoating a bead blasted stainless barrel and didn't get the tru strip prep. Anyone know an alternative I can find locally to use to prep the barrel. Brake cleaner, Acetone?

Lacquer thinner will clean the barrel just like tru strip. If you're going to be duracoating a lot, a gallon of tru strip is about $35. It's slow to evaporate and you can keep it in a tupperware like container for completely immersing some parts. Usually I just use a little on a blue shop rag.

Thanks, maybe I'll try that. I'm only doing one barrel and just want to try it myself. It's on an AR and honestly there's only maybe 4.5" of barrel exposed from under handguard. I just wanted to make sure I prep it ok and the spray it.

I have used gunscrubber with pretty good success with several different spray on finishes. Spray it from one end to the other and everything will run off, let it air dry, it evaporates pretty quick.
