Rifle Scopes Am I being picky or is this odd for new scope?

The phrase doesn’t mean no one cares.....it means it’s pointless to care.

When I see perfectly clean rifles and optics, it’s a really good indicator someone doesn’t use it hardly at all. And people that care overly much about how they look rarely shoot much either (not necessarily the OP. Generally speaking).

Having a perfectly clean rig because you don’t shoot is not equivalent to wanting your optics to be new when you buy them new.

Personal opinions about looks aside, it clearly indicates leaving the factory with a less than stellar QA. What else was overlooked.
IMO, no question it goes back.

I was astounded my first ZCO arrived in worse shape.

Having a scratched up car doesn’t change how it drives either, but I still care. Even more so if it’s brand new and I haven’t driven it yet.

I'm going through this right now with a car I'm selling. People on the internet say these cars should be driven and not stored in a garage to look at. But when it comes time to buy a used one, those same people nit pick and haggle over things like ohhhhhh it has 4,000 miles on it? oooooooh ummmmm that's hoooorrrible it's practically a junker now, better drop your price...
