American Outdoor Brands announced that it will be splitting into two publicly traded companies - Smith & Wesson Brands Inc and American Outdoor Brands Inc - in an effort to reverse a 39% decline this year.

Smith and Wesson will focus on firearms while American Outdoor will continue with its outdoor and firearm accessory business. The move is undoubtedly related to the political, economic, and investment climate in an effort to increase access to capital. This comes on the heels of Vista’s sale of Savage Arms.

Heard the other day that AOB was bought by a bunch of nuns and as majority shareholders they want to get rid of the gun portion of the conglomerate.

Seems that S&W will be moving out of Massachusetts after a loooooooonnnnnngggg association with the state.

More addiction, fewer jobs for Springfield.
