At the price most new production ammo was going for less than a year ago, it was almost impossible to load it any cheaper for the common plinking stuff. Hell, now that I think of it, even the Berger Munitions, Prime, FGMM, etc., were all quite inexpensive. I'm a re-loader, and have a large stock of components, but it was hard to justify the time at the bench, and even now looking at the backstock of loaded munitions.
No,the man is part of a large group in the area where everyone has purpose.
He has since turned his back on his people for a buck.
Guys, when loaded/commercial ammo goes up, so do the hand loading components and equipment. When loaded ammo is in short supply, so are the hand loading components. Unless you have been loading for the past few years and buying in bulk you are way behind the power curve here. This is like my 10th damn industry panic since 2000. Trust me.
Well, silver lining ....
Gas prices are dropping like rocks around here and the gas stations have plenty of it. I filled out backyard pool with it to make sure we have enough on hand for bug-out and Molotov Cocktail purposes.
?
Speaking of... I'm wondering how long a dozen 55g drums of diesel would stay stable for without additives.
One of my trucks has 100 gallon tanks, but being an F450, it's not my favor to drive unless it's under a load. Sumbitch will rattle your fillings loose.
Do you also get angry when your local gas station raises prices overnight?

Law of Supply and Demand in Economics: How It Works
The law of supply and demand explains how changes in a product's market price relate to its supply and demand. Demand for basic necessities is less responsive.www.investopedia.com
Your "buddy" runs a business. He doesn't know what his immediate future looks like in regards to his business remaining open. IF he has to close for 30 days or more, it could put him out of business. He's only reacting to existing market demands. He's also suffered the incredibly low prices and competitiveness of online ammo sellers. Unless he's made a promise, or more appropriately, a contract with you and your friends, he owes you nothing. Just as you owe him nothing. And based on your posts in this thread, he's likely happy to move on from you anyway.
The ammo industry was invaded by opportunists seeing a market not meeting demand. Eventually that demand was met and what you saw the last year or so was investors/business' unloading what they could, while they could in order to reman solvent or recoup what investments they made. Many, based on those prices, probably didn't make much if any money. But that's business. There's as risk vs. reward scenario and your "friend" is only reaping the rewards of his risks whether you approve or not.
For the most part I'd agree with you up to the point he let it fly at our annual meeting that he was going to gouge the fuck out of people.
Funny how a few drinks and misspoken words will kill off your collective friendships.
Our group has many professionals,
Doctors, Dentist, and Ditch Diggers I think you understand what I'm saying.
Thr funny thing about it is he doesn't even need the money it's a hobby to him.
As for ammo and components, that plan was set in motion decades ago on a rotating basis.
55gr FMJ "junk" has been killing people all over the world since the M16 was put into service.
Fucking virtuous bastard. You and your reloading virtue signals!I walked by a 3hr ammo ration line right over to the reloading section, proceeded to fill my cart and got out of the store in all of 15 minutes.
This.
There is a huge difference between a M193 round and the FMJ Tula stuff. Regardless, I dont want to get shot with either.
Over the velocity threshold M193 will fragment in soft tissue and do crazy shit with exit wounds that look like they got shot up close with a shotgun.
Give it a few weeks and the demand will hit the floor again after all the retards realize that they aren't going to need it, and eventually realize that they fucking suck with a carbine anyways. All I ever need to see is people doing simple 'up drills' to know that 99% of gun owners can't defensively shoot to save their lives. Literally.
"Oh, but I'm prepared, I have a gun and ammo in my house!". That's cute ARFcommer. Make sure its the ammo I like to use, ok?
I don’t think so… I think what’s going to happen is that this will end and then the election cycle will start factoring in.
I suspect that Trump is going to lose the election very narrowly and then we’re gonna have a problem
Probably about 100k in storageSooooo.....
Hows 22LR doing right now?
Looking pretty skinny out there.
So in everyone's experience with shortages, how long is this going to last? How long did it last when obummer was not my president?
might want to lay low on the backyard bbq's for a while...Well, silver lining ....

Diesel has a better shelf life than gasoline but it will eventually go bad because algea will grow in it . If you go find a can of diesel thats been laying around , look inside and you will see black stuff floating around ... that's algea. That stuff will grow 10 times faster in biodiesel. Most diesel has about 20% biodiesel mixed in it .Speaking of... I'm wondering how long a dozen 55g drums of diesel would stay stable for without additives.
At my age I've seen panic buying/shortages come and go. Learned a long time ago to keep enough inventory on hand to not be bothered by any of it. Loaded ammo, reloading supplies, I'm covered..
On the other hand, the toilet paper shortage is troubling.
Wow, I'm surprised it took this long for a reloader to virtue signal on reloading. Some of us are able to stock up on as much ammo as we want without needing to reload. I'm glad you enjoy reloading and have plenty of reloading supplies. Take care.
It might be time for a new catch phrase, "virtue signaling" is so 2019...
We will not fade into the nite, unarmed.
My local gunrange just sent out an email.
Curb side service on ammo and guns.
Curb side service on ammo and guns.
Not a typo not fake news.
Proper id and fill out forms in your vehicle wait for background check .

So.. what did you say to the teen earlier?I was shot with #7 from a range of about 20 feet.
I had on Carhartt bibs & a Carhartt Artic jacket, they were shredded.
If it wasn't for those two heavy layers I'd be dead.
As it was 19 pellets broke skin and had to be removed, believe me it incapacitated me by putting me on the ground.
It was my freinds teenage son and was an accident, he definitely understands what identifying what you are shooting at.
