AMP Aztec test case?

They’re melted down pretty good

Cool thanks. Any guesses on why its worse at those spots on each side of the mouth? Does it look like something physically touches the neck during the test? I'm curious how the machine actually reads the case.

Nothing touches the case. And they are pretty close hold on how the analysis works...

All my test cases look about like that. I imagine (not a physicist, so take it FWIW) the induction field has different density levels, and as the brass gets just to the melting spot, there are some hoter sections as it flashes just to the melting point.

Does not seem to be an issue when just going to annealing temps. The annealing appears to be nice and consistent.

I dunno how it works for sure. But the machine has an overheat shut off function. I figure they prolly put another temperature sensor near the coil where it measures the temperature of the case being heated. It calculates temperature and time and assigns a code to it.

But it could be a completely different voodoo.

There is no physical contact with the case at any point, even during the test runs. Just and induction coil in a ceramic insulator....induction heating.
