Night Vision AN/PVS-24 M2124 Clip-On Night Vision Device.

Re: AN/PVS-24 M2124 Clip-On Night Vision Device.

The 22s work fine, IMO. The 24 is a tad lighter, and smaller, but I think that's about it. From what I remember, I chose to use the 22 vs the 24 because I felt it was more robust and I didn't gain anything from using a 24. Same technology, just a few ounces saved I think. The 24 is meant for the M4, whereas the 22 is meant for a rifle.
-edit
The 22 on the M110 doesn't line up perfectly with the objective (height), but it never caused me any issues with shadowing or anything weird.

Re: AN/PVS-24 M2124 Clip-On Night Vision Device.

To add to the exllent advice already given here,The pvs24 is lighter smaller and works great with low power optics like 1-5 scopes and 2.5-8 is usable in the city light on the higher power. The pvs22 is better for longer range aplications,Yet it will still cover the lower power optics as well..

If you must hump it MOUNTED the pvs24 is nice!

IMHO depending on ambient light
20-300 yards PVS24 will do it well in a small handy package..
20-600 yards there is a PVS24 LR long range that works well.
20-600 yards the PVS22 FITS in well..
Any father and you need to look at the PVS27

Re: AN/PVS-24 M2124 Clip-On Night Vision Device.

Thanks for great info. I will be using this with S&B Short dot 1.1-4x20. I like the way the front of the scope goes inside the PVS24. Does that really help with anything?

Yes the shield is a good tool,Any specs of dust Rain drops will show up on the view side of the clip on,It also stops the glair from any light and shield the glow from anyone or thing seeing the wash..

1-4 S&B is a kick ass optic with a PVS24...The Larue 1.5 will get you close to alignment,I have not had any shift of impact with the PVS24's...

1.535 is center to the pvs24 clip on.. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Bender338</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Thanks for great info. Yes, no issues. Also good to know with any of the top end clip-on devices, even if you do not have a perfect co-witness and you may be a 1/2" hi/low, left/right you are still GTG with no POA/POI issues.

This is what separates these high end clip-on vs the low end imitations with their incredible optical light path alignment. This is one of the reasons these units cost as much as they do.

Here it is:

It looks amazing, I just don't think I will ever use it. I usually only go to the range during the day.

I might be selling it in the near future.

Re: AN/PVS-24 M2124 Clip-On Night Vision Device.

Pardone my ignorance. I am brand new to NV. Can I add a NV to any mark 4 leupold or does it have to have the illuminated reticle. Thank you guys in advance.

Re: AN/PVS-24 M2124 Clip-On Night Vision Device.

I would hang on to your 24 unless you need the cash. Keep it and get out and use it is my advice! ! !

I run the 24 in front of a Leupold MRT 2.5 to 8 (really 8.9) and it works very well. By "almost 9 power" you are stretching it but it is still quite usable. 6.5 is where it is really pretty.

Also as mentioned if your actually humping your gear any distance, a weight reduction helps tons.

I have both the 24 and the 22 and the 24 goes while the 22 stays home most nights.
