The thing is crimes commited with guns is actually so small and random its virtually impossible to tell if a gun law has any real effect. Which it wont.
In the grand scheme of things. There are 300 million people in this Country. People are going to die from from a variety of things. Some of which are way more prevalent han firarms. Its an illogical fallacy that a law can prevent all or any deaths in any particular way.
They are pretty much all utopian feel good measures based on fear, ignorance and hypothetical worste case scenarios.

One ray of hope for NV is after the legislature ramrodded the background check bill through the very first week (introduced on Tuesday, Gov. signed on Friday) is that all 17 county Sheriffs signed a letter saying they would not enforce the law.
Because the gov has NEVER wrongly convicted anyone of assault, domestic violence, or stuck them in jail for more than a year. And I suppose in this day and age of pussies instead of men it’s no longer normal to get into fights with your brothers? And if your attacked are you supposed to wait for the police before you fight back to ensure you won’t get a assault and/or battery charge if your doing too good a job defending yourself.. better 100 criminals go free than one innocent man punished..

You are delusional if you ever think we are gonna get pro gun legislation passed anytime in the foreseeable future unless society changes its view on guns and gun culture in general. With more urbanization and less people ever seeing guns much less using or understanding them we are fighting a loosing battle. That part is on each and every one of us. We need to get more people into shooting if we want more rights.
All I'm saying is, at this rate I would be willing to trade private background checks for repeal of nfa and conceal carry anywhere. That's a big gain for us in weapons we can possess that will be damn near impossible to take back once millions of them have been sold to the general public. Even that trade would never happens. Dems would burn into flames before they ever gave us an inch. Especially if it's these evil scary short and completely silent Ar15 fully semiautomatic WMDs. You are never gonna sell suppressors, SBRs, and MGs to the soccer moms of America.
Ideally we trade nothing because it's our damn right, but that's not the current reality.

So far in Texas thanks to the dedicated hard work of the TSRA we have actually been getting pro gun legislation passed each legislative session.
I'd suggest you consider telling all the gun owners you know in Texas to make sure they are signed up for their membership AND send regular donations to the TSRA PAC fund (MUST send specifically to the TSRA PAC not just the General TSRA, as they are separate funds).
Yes I've noticed that. New stuff just went into effect Sept 1 also. I'm talking on the Federal level. Sadly Texas alone can't legalize SBRs, suppressors, etc. Just ask the guy in Kansas who is in jail for owning a non registered suppressor.

Well you know if a bunch of states are getting away just fine with refusing to enforce Federal drug laws and also others are now starting to actively refuse to enforce immigration laws and go even further into protecting those breaking the federal laws.... I don't see why two can't play at that game.
Then the FBI or the ATF would actually have to come find you themselves with no help from the locals and if the locals came across something well state law says mind your business or loose your job...

I realize what your trying to say, but choose to give nothing and prepare for when they try and take em. If we let them take em piece by piece then we will be fighting with black powder muskets. All you need is one sheriff with big enough balls and willing to deputize anyone aligned with the constitution over fed gov.

Yes, if we get a universal background check law it WILL unitive all these lists into one central, COMPLETE list that the gov CAN use to easily track and eventually confiscate guns.

Id rather take my name on a list and be able to get access to currently heavily regulated items, that you already have to be beg for permission to own them.

The atf lists are not unwieldy. They have names, finger prints, current address, and serial numbers of every NFA item you have. They know damn well if you have 3 suppressors and an SBR there is plenty more where those came from. If you ever lawfully purchase and nfa item you have already entered the gauntlet. One more list isn't gon a change a damn thing.
Don't get me wrong I wholeheartedly apposed any list of any kind along with the NFA, but we are dealing with the hand we were dealt by the NRA when they allowed the GCA and NFA to pass.

You don't have to ask permission to sell; the buyer has to prove he can own. But, yeah, it sucks.

That would be totally expected, just like the Feds in the beginning did take the time and effort to go after folks in CA that were following the states laws on pot (even to the point of getting evil corrupt judges to bar the jury from hearing that the accused was actually only selling to an actual state agency).
But once they realized it was ALL on them start to finish with no help and no public support, eventually they kind of gave up for the most part.
We've been passing pro gun legislation in my state (OH) almost every fucking year for the last 15.

My state requires FFL transfers, and background checks on every firearm purchase. I don't know about you but those are digital forms at my FFL. They are required to keep those records how long? From what I can tell its 20 years. Those records must be provided to law enforcement upon legal request, correct? How do you find a record from 15 years ago? You'd catalog wouldn't you? I would. How else would you find it? Soooo a computerized database to catalog forms for easy retrieval would be called a list by some wouldn't it??????
Now those forms are transferred to the government for the background check no? you don't think that they have a database maintained to find those digital records? Who you kidding????
Oh and here the FFL is required to send a copy to the state police as well to "notify" them of the purchase. Why else would they have to be notified unless they want to remember those things? And how do you remember thousands of things your notified about????? YOU MAKE A LIST!!!!!!!

All y’all people that only want to sell to chl holders.. care to explain to me how one day as a chl holder I can buy instantly, then during a messy divorce while still holding a current chl I have to wait 3 days even though I committed no crime nor even charged with a crime?
Your in for a rude awakening if ya think any more restrictions on gun purchases are going to do any good for any free American. You should do some research into what kind of things the gov calls felonies too. Simple little things like putting the wrong answer on a gov form.. it’s easy to be judgmental about things you know nothing about huh?
