This would be a very serious issue for a regular American with this kind of Felony Record Rap Sheet. But apparently, not for Uber-Liberal Town of Bennington, Vermont Democrat Chris Bates... photographed below in possession of a firearm and shooting?

A Vermont lawmaker's outstanding arrest warrant in Illinois surfaced Friday.

Rep. Chris Bates (D-Bennington) was convicted of aggravated DUI in 2012, according to McHenry County, Ill., court records obtained by Seven Days. The charge stemmed from a 2010 arrest.

It was his third DUI, making it a felony.

Bates pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a lighter form of probation called conditional discharge. But the state sought to revoke the sentence in October 2013 because Bates missed a court date and failed to pay all fees. A judge issued a warrant for Bates' arrest that remains active, though Vermont is not among the states from which he may be extradited.

Bates said he moved to Vermont the same year he was convicted, 2012, but before the warrant was issued in 2013. A fishing guide, he hosts a radio show on WBTN called "Outdoor Secrets Unwrapped."

Last year, he was elected to the Vermont House in his first campaign for public office, handily defeating fellow outdoorsman Kevin Hoyt, a Republican. Which is no trouble in Bennington, which makes Berkeley look like a Nuremberg Rally, being filled with former hippie trust-funders, college professors and hemp-addled stoners who can't even get into an Ivy League school if Daddy donated a guy.

During the campaign, Bates called himself the "Fishin' Politician." And forgot to mention he has an outstanding warrant and a felony.

Nah. Some have a hole dried thru them to allow some use of the irons. Of course, that becomes moot if the front sight isn't adjusted to allow use of the rear sight to see clearly thru the passage for the range you're shooting at.

It was the guy's opponent who did bring it up after the election... and he only found out about it after the election was over.

Elections for VT House are not like in other states... Very little money involved (that is changing as outside cash is flooding the state to turn it into a Progressive Petri Dish)... But traditionally, the races were between neighbors. A 'campaign budget' might be (on the high side) $5k. You don't have (or do) opposition research. You were expected to be an honest member of the community and let your neighbors pick their representatives.

As I said, that's no longer true. It's why VT has been hijacked by the uber-left. Republican here are a joke, not because they are colluding but because they are simply rubes. And those who try and believe in old-time values like honesty and fairness, are easily destroyed by an organized cabal of socialists who are determined to destroy the system from the inside.

Ask all the folks down in Texas... as the Commies move in. And Alabama. And Arizona. And Montana. And Colorado.

Should I go on? Wonder if it's a coincidence that they are trying to drive people out of California and New York? The lefty dispora will take over these states (and their electoral votes) faster than they can be stamped out.

We need more people like our forefathers. They got sick of the king and did something about it and left us with a system that can work with honest people running it. We just keep electing people who only want to make a career of telling other people how better to run their lives rather than tend to preserving what freedoms that were fought for. People who feel they are better than those that elected them, people who feel that laws just don’t apply to them.

This needs to change. Hopefully though elections but that seems to be less and less likely as the years roll by. Eventually and unfortunately it may well come to means beyond elections.
