Funny how SpaceX launches a couple of times a week but NASA makes a huge production over the first Boeing launch attempt in as long as I can remember.
I guess small companies face huge challenges.

Boeing has lost its mojo in so many ways...
Too many lawyers and EEOC wonders. They spend their time on mission statements and ass-covering.
Sadly, one of the greatest companies in history is just ossified at a level hard to describe.
If this launch does not come off, Boeing is in deep doo-doo!

Watched a falcon launch a few years ago. We were on the pier at Jetty Park. What a site, wish I could have seen an actual shuttle launch once.
The live video was cool. The animation is lame. I'm out.

I'm not anti-Boeing by any means. If I have a choice, I only fly the 737 domestically and the 777 or (sadly not an option now, the 747) internationally.
My comment was specifically directed at the "yay Boeing" attitude from NASA when SpaceX has been successfully serving their needs for years.

Musk as openly challenged big brother with his twatter bidness. He is no longer a viable trustworthy option for them.
Boeing was kept in the space business to help keep Boeing afloat. Lots of jobs in Florida depend on United Space alliance which is basically Boeing.
I don’t think musk gives much of a rats ass about NASA contracts. Too much risk for him to deal with government oversight.
He can go ahead with his own development and let Boeing and NASA plod along on the safe path to nowhere.

It was nice that NASA did basically save SpaceX back in 2008? But now SpaceX can basically survive on it's own without the gov contracts. With it's Starlink Constellation and rideshares from private and other countries coming aboard, Space X is years ahead of the competition. About the only real competition for them is Chyna.
But it's really sad to see Starliner delayed over and over again and yet, you have SpaceX resupplying the ISS and sending humans back up the ISS for years now. Now the Artemis project is a total waste of tax payer money, they are 10s of billions into it and over 2 decades, and I am willing to bet Starship is going to reach orbit before SLS.

NASA was a giant financial stepping stone to musk. He almost went bankrupt trying to win that contract. That alone should tell you who is important to who. He was willing to risk it all, to get that first initial contract and the help to fine tune his rough draft.
He (musk) will make going to mars or regular visits to the moon a real thing. NASA only held that carrot in front of dad for unlimited funding and attention. They have no real desire to go that far into space exploration in my opinion.
I'd give both and take testosterone pills if that's what it took to ride into space
I have family that lives in Melbourne FL. They used to reserve a table at this cool restaurant on the inlet, right across from where the Shuttle used to launch. We went several times. All patrons in restaurant would eat and then out onto the deck to watch the launch (long time ago). Very cool.
