I have read a lot of threads about cleaning your bore and I probably missed this, but what about if you are not going to shoot for a couple of weeks? If your rifle is going to sit in the safe for a while, should you clean the bore? I like to shoot a whole lot more than I like to clean, but if I'm not going to shoot for a while, is it ok to leave my rifle uncleaned in the safe?

If my rifle is due for a cleaning at the time that I'm going to store it, I'll clean it with some Butch's and then spray a little Rem oil on a patch and run it down the barrel just to give it a light coating of oil and then it's good to go in the safe. If my rifle is not due for a cleaning then it just goes in the safe.

Some like me will say leave it and shoot it next time out. Others will say clean it right away and five time till sunday.

    Whatever makes you feel better.
