No info on it yet except that it had propulsion, steerage and was flying over military bases.

White House says a second 'high altitude object' shot down ...

    https://www.usatoday.com › news › politics › 2023/02/10

29 minutes ago — Kirby said the object was flying at an altitude of 40,000 feet and “posed a reasonable threat to the safety of civilian flight.”

Hopefully they'll keep getting lower so I'll have the chance to down one... My truck would look good with a ballon stenciled on it...

I'll wait until it's time to just put the plow on and start running down the commies...

Starting with the ones on bicycles. Don't the Chinese all ride bicycles? Another reason they are third world losers...

4 E6 Mercury airborne command posts up

A little busy for a Friday afternoon

Attack during the Super Bowl would be interesting...

Back in the day we had DEWline stations all across the northern tier. Clinton and the EPA shut a ton of stuff down

There was a NORAD radar installation in the Blue Ridge Mountains just west of Lynchburg Virginia.

Circa 1980 we we're up there messing around thinking it was closed when a guy opened the door and asked what we were doing. Told him, just looking around. He took us up into the dome and showed us the radar screen. Even that remote there were more than 200 blips at any time. That was 40 years ago, I wonder how many blips there are today.

May 24, 2018 — The “golf ball” dome covers the rotating radar unit to protect it from high winds that buffet the mountain.

    Good catch

We just put another balloon up. Click on it and it will show the path all the way back to the launch site just north of Sioux falls

Kinda interesting to look at the winds at various altitudes around that launch. You can click on altitude settings in lower RH corner. Note the dramatic changes in wind speed and direction as altitude changes:

One way to control balloon flight: change the altitude.

What does that have to do with the U2 on east coast?

You must like the smell of my ass as you seem to follow my posts.

knowing joe he is happy to see another balloon from his puppet handler personally Id love to see launched just out side of china 10,000 balloons to drop propaganda into china and see how they like it , but joe will never anger his master like that .

Last week’s spy balloon was the size of three school buses, according to Pentagon officials. A sophisticated surveillance craft with propellers that gave it maneuverability, the balloon carried a payload the size of a jetliner.

First thing I think of is it’s propaganda due to his failure to act on the actual one last week when it could have been downed in the same area before passing over the continental US and completing its mission.

I saw a loaded A10 flying low up the mountains Wednesday where they don’t do training with them so who knows WTF is going on these days.

The only plane that seems to cross that airspace is a Chinese 777 en route from JFK to China

Cargo plane and tons of Chinese selling Chicom stuff out of NYC, so probably normal, still a cargo plane would make a good surreptitious reconnaissance platform

Maybe they have a guy with a leather helmet, goggles and binoculars dangling out as it passes over today's shoot down site.

You guys might be surprised at Chinwanistans automotive industry.
I've been to the main FAW plant a few times, it's not a tonka toy factory.

Do these Commiecars look kike familiar styling?

The Rivet Joints were most definitely training sorties. TOPCT is the schoolhouse call sign. HOOVR is one of the ops squadrons, but they are both near a signals training range. I flew these in a previous life and have many many hours boring holes in the sky in that area.

"Size of a car," = drone

They could waste a lot of our inventory intercepting drones.

We should bring back some nice recips with six 50's to take care of the drones. Like let's think about those Mustangs and Corsairs that are still around. Would be some fun for someone.
