Another noob bolt action question.

So I just took my CZ 600 Range home today, very happy with it so far. And got my Vortex Venom 5-25x56 MRAD scope in today as well. The rifle has an adjustable comb cheek riser. With a 56mm objective lens, how do I know if medium height scope rings will be tall enough? I haven't ordered any yet due to wondering about this. I assume if I mount Remington 700 style rings straight to the receiver I'll need taller ones than if I mount a picatinny rail rail, and then the scope to the rail as that will lift the scope higher and give more clearance for the bell/objective to clear.

Just wanted to check before I ordered if there's a way to measure things out (I have calipers) or if there's some general rule of thumb? I know I don't want the thing way up in the air higher than need be. (I probably will put it on a rail)

I put whatever rail I’m using on the rifle. I then stack coins or washers in two stacks under the scope tube until correct height is achieved. Then measure the stack with micrometer.

Midwayusa used to have the measurements from top of rail to bottom of tube. Otherwise many have the ring measurements to the center of the scope tube. So just add your stack of washer measurements to half the diameter of the scope tube and you’ll have your size needed from top of rail to center of tube

I always run 20/30 moa pic rails and medium rings are usually perfect. I’d rather have the scope slightly higher than needed with adjustable comb then fight to get my head low enough to shoot comfortably

Good advice above, will add a few bits.

Bolt guns ring height partially depend on barrel profile and where you mount the scope if rail is canted.
Don't forget the scope covers can add more diameter to the bell.
Med will probably work, but if in doubt you may want to buy rings from Amazon with super easy returns if you guess wrong.
