Night Vision Another Opinions Wanted on what I should buy thread

I've got around $12K set aside to make the leap into the night vision/thermal world. I am looking to spend my money in a way that will give me the most capabilities, while not purchasing lower end items that I will want to upgrade down the road. For example, I am kicking around a MH-25 and a Halo LR. That would give me the ability to move, scan, and shoot and should be around my budget. I would use it for night hunting out west mostly. That being said, I am also dying to get a pair of PVS-31's ( I realize these are a little more expensive). I am also thinking about snatching up a refurb pvs-30 while they are still available. I am open to any and all suggestions. I have no experience in this world so I don't really know how I would realistically use them. I appreciate the help
