Apparently I get bored easy! I painted this rifle about a month ago with Testors spray on paint. I let it cure for 4 days then put it all back together. I don't know why but it still felt sticky to the touch. I wasn't a fan at all. I had a bunch of Krylon left over from painting my wifes .223 and decided to give ACU digital a try. So after watching several youtube videos and reading what everyone had posted on here and AR15, I gave it a try. I thought what the heck, if I don't like it I can always repaint it. Well here it is, my R700 308. For those of you that have done digital camo if you can chime in on what I could do to make it better, it would be greatly appreciated.

This is what it looked like before my attempt at ACU digital

I am DIY'r myself and have done some digitals but certainly no professional. One suggestion for a better looking finish is that you make sure that your masking material is pressed firmly against the surface be it tape, stencil etc. It will make for a cleaner look.

I really don't strive for a particular pattern such as marpat, acu or cadpat but try to match my colors to the surrounding where the rifle is most likely to be used. Here are a couple of examples, these were done in Cerakote and Duracoat.

I used masking tape to make the digital effect and just randomly placed it in different patterns on the rifle. I'm actually thinking about stripping it off already. I saw a thread today using marine tex on th grip and really like the way it looked. I really like the rifles you have done. They look amazing. When I strip it and repaint it within the next few days I will post pictures of how of the process. By far I'm no expert either but you Sir have some nice rifles!!!
