given a choice Ill go with the BLM every time. I know a lot of fine black people. I even know a couple that are sympathetic to BLM. I understand. They, to some degree, still dont have equal opportunity. Thats a fact, not a speculation. Its changing but not done yet. While feeling oppressed they love America and just want change. Don, the Whirlpool repairman who came to my home yesterday was a great example. He admitted "Yeah, there are times Ive had to work harder than my white counterparts but it just made me stronger." Felt like Id made a friend by the time he left. Welcome in my home anyday.
Antif'as, on the other hand are nothing but communist backed garbage. The only way Ive ever known to reason with a communist is at the point of a gun. My gun pointed at his chest.
Fuck a bucnh of communists.

Why don't you point me to some specifics on that. I don't need to hear your racist diatribe, about how they were bread stupid by evil white slave owners. You point me to one way, a person has less opportunity than another in this country based on race. If its a fact it shouldn't be hard to explain, and quantify.

Your fears have no basis in fact.

You sound like an old white southerner who is full of white guilt.

guess people are sensitive, i kind of agree with you but for different reasons.
Well I am looking at it this way, Black people are American as can be, if some of them got complaints I listen, might or might not agree but I will give a listen, they been here longer than 98% of everyone else, Communism and Socialism is un American, its a disease imported from evil Europe, the same Evil Europe our ancestors escaped from, it needs to be stomped out utterly and completely, I dont care what a communists complaint is, I seen it in action in East Germany for real, nit just read about it, or theorize in a class room, I keep clean and prep the only cure for communism, my guns. Black people are fellow Americans, Communists are not they forfeited that privilege, they are my enemy and the enemy of my people..
Jerry,
What they cant seem to get is the difference between 'Positional' and 'Experiential'.
Lets examine this quote....
"All men are created equal."
Positionally, by the Constitution, all men are equal. In actual life experience,I dont see how anyone could say we are all equal. Could Steven Hawkings play tight end on the Patriots? Other than a savant, can autistic children learn Calculus. Unlikely.
So positionally, we may all have the same opportunities, but realistically, experientially, we dont all have the same shot at those opportunities.
If everyone in your family has gone to Harvard for 6 generations and accumulated billions of $$$ their opportunity level is 'positionally' equal to a poverty strapped black kid who went to PS 316, experientially its not a level playing field.
If Big Bush, dropped a couple million into the Harvard trust fund, Little Georgie gets in even if he is a dufus and some bright but impoverished misses his shot . That is not equal.
As I said, its changing, but the problem didnt occur in a generation and change of this magnitude doesnt happen in a generation, or even two.
I get what you are saying, and yes some people are born with an advantage right out of the gate. All you can do is play the hand that was dealt to you, but how you choose to play your hand is your choice.
Bullshit Maggot , now you are demonstrating paternal racism, and racism of low expectations. We are all born butt naked and broke in this country, where you end up is mostly up to you, no matter what color.

You are looking for outcomes instead of opportunities. This is not the land of milk and honey, this is the land of "opportunity." The is no shortage of opportunity for people to get out of ghetto, get educated, and live better. A lot of people do it with out getting educated. The obvious flaw in your argument, for this proving the system racist, is that there are poor white people also. No-one dropped a bill in a college fund for me. I don't think George senior cared if I went to college. I am white to, what the hell? Could you point me to the white people college fund? I have student loans to pay.
You are you mixing up helping family, with race. If George W was black would it no longer be racist for his father to pay for college.
The only obvious flaw is in your perception.
When I speak 'economically' Im painting with a broader brush. that includes all people, not just black, though it may seem that way. Try this:
Out of 100 people, 1 of them is in the 1%, maybe 2-3 in the 10% and after that its pretty flat. To get a larger statistic, multiply that by 10 so we have 1000 (black, white, brown) poor and 10 in the 1%.
The 1000 or so from the ghetto/poorest sections of cities who are lucky to have enough food and have trouble just finishing high school because of crime, poverty, etc.
The 10 or so from the wealthiest families have been to the finest boarding and prep schools and a heritage from Harvard.
Who has the best 'opportunities' you speak of? While a certain number of highly motivated from the 1000 will break the mold they have to work a lot harder than those from the 1% who have success laid in their laps.
While not set in stone if you have more opportunities, its a lot easier to have a positive outcome. Again, not set in stone but definitely a large factor.
And the black race, at this time, is at a significant economical well as educational disadvantage.
If you cant see the above then Im wasting my time with you and Im done with that, go ahead and play your little racist card, Ill be laughing at you elsewhere.
And the black race, at this time, is at a significant economical well as educational disadvantage.
This is complete Horseshit...
In America it's the choices you make in life that define your future.
Any of those knuckleheads you see on TV can get their shit together, join the Military and have a damn good life.
There are tons of state and Federal Grants and scholarships specifically for poor youth just at their fingertips, if they apply themselves in school.

Maggot , did you watch the Morgan Freeman interview posted a little ways down in the CNN thread? I thought he handled this discussion with aplomb.

I didn't have a missed call or message? No breakfast, but I believe some beer and BBQ with The Mikes is in the works right after I take my lady to the Salvador Dali museum.
You really need to learn some reading comprehension rather than going through life as a one dimensional moron. Your stupidity is exactly why I rarely pother to try to explain. My mistake, jeez I wish the ignore button worked.
Black people have been more than equal for 30-40 years. Affirmative Action, hiring quotas, preferential admissions to college. The schools that are heavily Black get money thrown at them in piles. To say racism holds them back is silly.
So we (White people) have done our part in giving Black people a hand up, not out. But we have also given hand outs. Yet we are still to blame for their condition in society? This is Bullsh!t.
When have you ever seen Al Sharptougne spend the time or money teaching these young men and women how to apply for a job. How to dress, how to make sure they have the info to fully complete an application? How to show up early for an interview not late?
Now I am sure I can only make these observations because I'm a Racist. But if common sense is Racist then so be it. I am numb to the words. They are used so loosely they mean nothing.
You can offer a Man opportunity but you can't make him take it. Especially when he can just blame racist white men for his failures.Morgan Freeman has it right. The Bus of Opportunity is running and no one is keeping them from getting on it. JMHO
Absolutely, but if you start with a pair of dueces, its hard to win against someone who always starts with a straight.
Not a bit, Im just able to reason and understand beyond your weak ability. I see Ive got 3 dislikes for this one. I must be doing something right. Like laughing at your ignorance. Bye now.

Just an FYI. "Tight End" is a "position". And yes, Stephen Hawking did play that 'position' for the Patriots. That's how he broke his neck and became paralyzed. If memory serves me right it was a spectacular hit by Jack Tatum. Look it up.![]()
