Any CZ550 Builds out there?

I have 2 CZ550's and have always loved the actions on them.

I'm thinking of using the action from my .243 Sporter as the basis for a precision rifle build, either keeping it a .243 or giving the .260 a try.

I know there isn't a huge aftermarket lineup for this action, so i'm looking for some inspiration from others. Anybody out there tried this?

A friend of mine has a custom CZ550 chambered in 50 Battleship. It`s the 416 Rigby cut off at the shoulder which makes it a straight wall cartridge. He shoots 50 BMG bullets in it. Cheap to shoot because all of the military bullets available. Powerhouse!

I've done a number of CZ550 Safari Magnums in 12.7 X 48. It uses a .338 Lapua mag case cutoff at 1.89" with a neck turned on it. These are loaded with .510 dia bullets from 300-800gr. The cartridge is also known as 510 whisper. The rifles work very well. With the full length mauser extractor, single set trigger and very stable built in scope rail they are a good action to use. I'd say the smaller standard 550 actions should be very good.

Have a friend with a .338 norma mag built on a cz 550 magnum with McMillan stock fitted. It is VERY accurate and a really nice rifle.

Im doing a 510 Battleship. Going to build a heavy hitting subsonic rifle. It will be on a Templar single shot long action though. Definitely a cool caliber!
