Any experience with Peltor ComTac VI?

Need to replace an older set of Peltors. I see the Comtac VI appears to be available. I will not have any use for comms, but would pay the premium for the VI over the III (Defender versions of each) if the audio performance was better than the Comtac IIIs. I'm interested in sound quality, directional determination, and clarity. Seems like the big selling point for the VI's might be the short-range comm function, which would be of no use to me. Would the new version be worth a premium over the old IIIs?

Our team switched to the VI's and they are a great. A HUGE improvemt over the 10 year old III's we ran. Clarity & directional determination are awesome.

Look at the Vs. Basically equivalent to the VI without the short range feature and consequently much better battery life.

Thanks for comments. I went ahead and bought the non-comm version last week, and agree with Miles' comments above, I'm happy with them.
