I'm planning on using the Dillon for 9mm, .40, .357, .223 and .30-'06. Those calibers are mainly for "fun" plinking or tactical training (i.e., short ranges). Volume counts most here. I decided on the blue paint because everyone with whom I have spoken directly (and have the greatest respect for) has recommended Dillon. Also, in reading the vast amount of information here, I found a trend-- "I started with brand X, but then I bought a Dillon. Wish I had just bought them first."
Of course, there are other brands which might do just as well, but I don't have that kind of time, patience or money to wind up where I think I will anyway. So, for me, it's just easier to buy once, cry once.
The single press is for my .308 and .338LM loads, where precision is king. Since Dillon doesn't make a single stage press, I again looked through the files on the Hide, and this is what I came up with.
It's also interesting to go onto YouTube, and watch the videos people have made on reloading. They seem to support my decisions on quality as well.
I guess I kinda liken it to rifles-- there may be a Remington 700 SPS out there that shoots just as well as my TRG22, but why take the chance-- I just bought the TRG to begin with. (Of course, insert AI, GP or other high end there as well.....).
I also found it interesting to see so many write "It's just as good as a Dillon....." If something is a prime standard, why get the derivative if you can afford the standard.
I bought a reciprocating saw a long time ago, and to save $20 I didn't get the quick-change blade unit. I kicked myself everytime I used that and broke a blade for the next few years. I have since replaced it with a quick-change unit.
Of course, I welcome additional wisdom to shed light on things......
