Hi, I have read quite a bit about the different scope and I have seen the comparisons and on a technical spec level the Steiner M7XI 2.9-18 or the 4-28 look very good. The only negative is that I read about image quality and IQ drop off and CA. It is hard to judge those statements on image quality because som much of it is subjective or comparative. I have looked for a good online scope review where they show the view through the scopes for the M7XI series but I cannot find them. The ones like what C_DOES does on Youtube are great and let you judge for yourself. Does anyone have any images through the scope showing the image quality that can be shared or posted for informational purposes?

Nice Leupold v Nightforce video:

Sad no one responded to this one haha. I don’t have any pics that I can find atm. The m7xi was my first “tier 1” scope. Since then I kinda played musical scopes on my trg22 trying to find that “perfect scope “ that I could afford. I mostly buy use and old deals that pop up. Below 16–20 power that thing is amazing a move that not so much. It gets good amount of ca and a bluish hue to the image. I don’t think it’s as bad on most samples as it’s made out to be. I’ve seen about 4 of them and most are pretty good scopes. On sample a friend had is jaw droppingly nice. Since then i moved to a pmii 3-20x50 non ultra short. That scope I really liked, should Probly have kept that scope, very well balanced and corrected “.i dont really like the lt-mtc turrets. They are kinda mushy. I sent to in and had new detents put in and they were pretty nice after that. Kind of a smaller image than the m7 but was nice overall. I think the m7 was a little better on the bottom end. Then I had a ziess s5 3-18x50. Total pile of dogshit optically to my eyes in that price class. Really bad eye fatigue and didn’t really look clear to me no matter how much I played with it. And the damn turrrets didn’t line up. Sold it. Then I got a minox zp5, great optically and great turrets, just kind a Hubble telescope. Then a pmii 5-25, loved that scope but could not get over the tunneling from 5-8 power. Sold it. Was running the zp5 up until the other day. Now with all that said and done I’ve some to the conclusion that their is no “ free lunch” in a optically design. I haven’t been behind a Zco or a tangent. They are just out of my price class. I’ve had to buy and sell a lot of scopes to play with others. I have come across the T6xi and I do like those. But I think I’m going to go back to a m7xi. The fit and finish and turrets are second to none that I have played with really even the s&b. If I have to give up a little optically past 20 power so be it. The reticle etching is amazing, the 4-28 has great fov and “pop” to the image. I’m not a high mag guy so it doesn’t matter too much to me. Your mileage may very. There are some bad samples out there but I think it’s worth the gamble. Plus this scopes are tough as nails
