Any major differences between the OBR and PredatOBR?

I'm looking at picking up an OBR or a PredatOBR and could use some help in finding out if there are any significant differences between the two, other than the obvious physical characteristics.

For example, I know about the 20 moa rail on the OBR, the barrel change system on the PredatOBR, etc.

I'm mainly wondering is there are significant build quality or accuracy differences between the two? Does the OBR have a heavier barrel? Is the OBR due for a refresh since its an older design?

FWIW, I am looking at an 18" OBR and an 18" PredatOBR in 260 rem.

I have an OBR, very happy with it, bought before the PredatOBR. Wish I had the PredatOBR, I don't see a downside and the versatility is a big plus in my book.

I have a tOBR that I was able to convert to 260 and love it, but honestly I'd just buy one of the new ultimate upper kits now that those are out. Mark doesn't seem interested in selling the barrels on their own anytime soon so the whole quick change thing is kinda useless. The ultimate upper kits are a bargain in comparison.

I have both. The OBR is a bit heavier and lacks the flexibility of the tOBR to do easy caliber changes. The tOBR's rail is easily removed and the barrel nut allows you to quickly change barrels/calibers. My tOBR was originally a 7.62 and now it can (and does) wear a 6.5CM and a .260 Rem.

^^^^sums it up well.

I also have both and there is little difference other than a little more weight on the OBR and the ability to change calibers and the takedown aspect of the tOBR. Personally, I like the way my tOBR handles over the OBR but the difference is small.

I have a 5.56 tOBR, and I have a Stealth 2.0 MLOK upper on the way. If everything works out, I can see ditching my tOBR upper for the Stealth 2.0. I think the OBR design is a bit dated and adds some bulk. The tread seems to correctly be smaller, lighter and faster. To that end, I think the most interesting upper Larue makes right now is the stealth 2.0.

I have both the 18" OBR and the 18" tOBR. Only real difference other than the barrel change feature on tOBR is it not quite as heavy. My guess is because of the RAT stock versus the PRS stock on the OBR. I couldn't get a decent check weld on my tOBR's RAT stock so went to the PRS stock. Now both seem to be the same weight.

Thanks for the input! I figured this was the case. I was mainly curious because the description of the OBR says that the carrier is hand polished, and the tOBR doesn’t mention this. Wanted to see if this translated into other minor fitting and construction differences in the OBR v tOBR.
