Keep getting slight, but different distance readings between GPS catalogued points in my Trimble/FFS and my PLRF15c. Was trying to figure out if it was either the GPS in the Trimble isn't accurate down to a yard or if the PLRF15C doesn't actually factor in cosine angle on reading distance.
One of them is right; I'm trying to figure out if its the Trimble's GPS or the PLRF.
Just went through the Vectronix manual and didn't see a mention of a cosine function or a way to turn one off/on which is making me think it doesn't have one/calculate it, which is wild to me seeing all the crazy shit its capable of doing.
The distance differences aren't enough (haven't been a problem) to be a big deal at long range, but was putting posts in the ground today to make a quick 100 yard sight in spot that would be exactly the same each time, and ended up with the laser always telling me it was exactly 100 and the registered GPS points in the Trimble/FFS coming up as 96 yards.
Any ideas?
