You fly for B6 by chance?

Re: Any pilots?

Yeah, Commercial, Multi Engine, Instrument,CFII. My injuries have prevented me to keep my 1st or 2nd class medical and flying for free isn't my idea of fun anymore.

I built a Pitt's S1A and was partners in a Factory built Pitt's S2A. I have around 800 hours in taildraggers. And 550 multiengine, plus another 750 or so in various models of SEL.

Re: Any pilots?

Getting my pilot license is something that I'd really like to do, but everything aviation is so damn expensive! I could see myself doing the experimental homebuilt thing, a SuperCub with bushwheels and just the basics is my idea of a beautiful plane!

I am afraid of heights too until you put me into a airplane lol. My girlfriend says she won't go because she is afraid of heights too, I will try to get her to be my co-pilot sometime soon!

I'm low time compared to some of these fella's. Around 10,000 hours by now, and got lazy and quit keeping a log about 10 years ago (company does it now). Have been in a King Air 350 and Falcon 50 for the last 10 years. Dad and I still own a C140 together and enjoy flying it the most. Keeps you honest on a windy day, kind of like shootin' rifles.

I'm a low time private pilot and I currently work at an avionics broker. Started out as a line boy at a local flight school, fueled the planes and wiped down the windshields to get flight time.

I just put in my NA packet to the Navy, it's going to be a long wait until the next board.

Yes single engine land and glider. Got my license in 1983 with glider endorsement soon after. Owned a few planes and a high performance sail plane. Lot's of time in tail draggers, sail planes and high performance singles only.

I got my PP Single Engine Land in '01, it was a HS graduation present from my parents. Got most of it out of the way the summer of '00 I would fly usually once a week, sometimes twice. Finished up in '01 and had a hell of a time getting my certificate because of being a naturalized citizen and having my parents change their last name during naturalization, FAA were big ball busters, I needed three temporaries by the time I got the real thing. Got my IFR rating about 3 years ago, but buying a condo, wedding plans and the likes get in the way. Have not been up since. :( Medical expired, need a bi-annual, totally not current. I really miss it, but there just does not seem to be enough funds to justify it for now. Shame, I love it.

Missed shooting in my match today because work got in the way....
oh well

At first I was going to say Punta Cana, but it's not lol. Been going there every winter since '96 and got married there in Feb.

Interesting, I just got married there last October. Had our destination wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Had about 70 people attend the wedding. The Domincan Republic is a great place to vacation at. The people treat us real nice there.

I agree on the time and money is not enough to do every thing, especially when flying is so expensive and time consuming to stay current.

I have fixed and rotary wing ppls but really low hours on both. Work and life always seem to get in the way. I really need to get back into flying but to much of my time and income seems to go into shooting. Maybe I need to learn to shoot from a helicopter so I can combine both lol

121 commercial here. Flying isn't so fun anymore when you do it for a living. If I could find a job I enjoyed that paid what I am making now or better I would be gone in an instant. Sadly, as bad as the airlines are, I dont know if something better is out there for me at least.

What's wrong with working for the airlines? I am just wondering because I plan on working for one within the next couple years. Also, how long have you been flying? I feel like that I will love doing what I love for a living, or I hope I will. I know flying will be a lot better than working in a factory.

Its not all airlines...its most regional airlines. The flying is fine - its all the associated BS that gets to you.

A reduced rest overnight after getting bedbugs for the third time at some podunk airport Clarion that isn't within a 15 minute walk of anything to eat except a gas station because your airline wanted to save $1/room gets kinda old.

Especially when you get extended or junior manned into a day off.

I put 4 hrs in a logbook in a PA28-140, loved it, then my Daughter lost her interest, and Mama nixed any further aerial adventure for me (aviating ain't cheap...). I reverted to my love of rubber powered free flight aeromodeling and have managed to endure the reversion. Just remember, my planes fly without a pilot and without R/C...
