Any shoots in Alaska???

Re: Any shoots in Alaska???

I looked at the Sourdough but it looks like shorter range. I'm trying to find something good either Tatical Rifle or Benchrest.

If you are down near Anchorage I would try the Birchwood range off of Glen Highway. I am not certain if they have matches, but they may know somewhere that does.

Good luck.

Re: Any shoots in Alaska???

I use to shoot in Alaska, quite abit. During the summer they had quite a few High Power Matches at Rt Rich, and Wainwright, Some in the SE also.

Intermingled were some F-Clas (only we didn't call them that back them. Basicly shooting 600 yards "with what you have"

So a search on the ALASKA RIFLE CLUB. Also check NRA's upcoming matches. Alaska has quite a few matches listed.

In the winter we moved indoors shooting air rifles and small bore. Careful here, those kids from the U of A will come down from Faribanks and eat your lunch.

Re: Any shoots in Alaska???

I've been asking around at Birchwood lately, from what I gather, most of their competitions are 3 gun and cowboy action oriented. This May there was a long range competition shoot on Fort Rich with service rifles, and various other long range mayhem. I had work, so I wasn't able to get out there. I got all of my info on this comp from the NRA, they'll have links and other such helpful things in the competition section of their website.
