Training Courses Any value in taking an unknown distance class

I am considering signing up for Sig Sauer academy unknown distance class for precision rifles. However, given the wide availability of LRFs, is there much value in this class?
Also, I would appreciate any AAR for someone that may have taken this exact class (I took other precision rifle classes at the academy).

UKD classes teach a lot. We do a subsonic only class/shoot every once in a while, an when new guys first get started they get very disappointed when told no LRF'ers allowed. Now bare in mind most guys are shooting their high speed stick in these matches so adding12-16 moa just to get to 100yds an farther (KD's) is easy, but have them shoot a target at 63 yds, 241, 384, or 429 yrds w/o the benefit of their LRF'er an they sound like 3 yo kids. Learn to use an know your reticle an you will be light years ahead of the internet only, an KD shooters.

There is this thing called "murphy", perhaps more correctly "Murphy's law", paraphrased , "if it can f up, it will", "there are those it has happened to and those it's going to happen to".
We lived by "two is one, one is none". And there is the comment, "no plan survives first contact", and in 37 years, murphy screwed up some of the best plans and preparations we made.

So, for entertainment, go to the class.
For education, go to the class.
For an emergency visit from Murphy, go to the class.
For another tool in the kit, go to the class.
For a insurance policy go to the class.
For the heck of it go to the class, the people you meet are worth it, being with like minded people is fun.

For all those reasons, and the peace of mind they can bring, go to the class.

To be quite frank, it doesn't take a whole class to figure out how to do the UKD thing without an LRF. It's a simple formula used in conjunction with measuring the target in MOA or Mils. It's pretty damn simple.

K&M does a portion of their flagship class on UKD, they have a good section and exercise on it. You will learn UKD and much more.
