Well, are there any.

Might be worth co-ordinating a day at Little River or somewhere for a shoot? I dont get out there very often and some company would be nice.

Cheers.
Remoah.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Hey mate,
There are quite a few of us on here from Vic. I have been meaning to catch up with a few of the guys at little river, just haven’t had the time as late, plus im waiting on the new rifle, hopefully only a couple of months off.

Im sure a few will chime in soon as they are regulars at little river. Its quite a trip for me so have only been twice, but will be heading back soon.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

it is a bit of a hike isnt it.
Im in Frankston so its a couple of hours each way for me.
There's a 600m range at Grantville near Lang Lang i've been looking into, they seem fairly accomodating to non members but i havent been there yet, only talked to the range president.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Yeah i have mate living in Frankston at the moment. His studying medicine and is placed there. Interesting place..haha, but not the worst ive been too. Dont leave his appartment at night tho.

LangLang is not far form me. Ive got two other ranges within 20 minutes also. Havent gone to check them out yet, i plan too, but they are F-class ranges. Not really looking to shoot F-Class just yet. The guy i spoke to from Rosedale Range seemed really inviting though, so will get down there one day.

Petty Little River isnt a longer range.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Forgive my ignorance, but I had to open this thread to see if I was one, a Victorian that is...And the answer is "NO". Anyway, you guys shoot-um-up and stay safe! Sorry for the intrusion...

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Ah really i used to live in Leongatha until we moved down here. What area of frankston does he live in? Pines/Franga Nth is shit but Frankston Sth/Langwarrin is ok.

Hey pete if you get any info of a range within an hour or so of LangLang give us a yell. Im not shooting F Class either so somewhere to just have a fun shoot would be awesome.

AQC, it's ok, your forgiven

Too bad you dont live here, it's a wonderful nanny state!

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Oh yeh, Im living in Traralgon at the moment. Would have been some good shooting spots out Leongatha way i would have thought? Not sure what area of Frankston his in, but its near the supermarket, the one with JB HiFi out the back and a bunch of other shops around the carpark.

"range within an hour or so of LangLang" would be Moe, and then there is Rosedale which is about another 40 minutes or so further i spose. I'll probably check out rosedale, but wont be for a while. I'll let you know. Just wish i had a shit load of private land myself to shoot on instead..oh well.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Ah yeah cool.
Well i head down to bairnsdale once or twice a year but nowhere to shoot there... yet :p
Nah theres nothing in 'Gatha. Well there is but i never checked it out.

Ahhh im trying to think. Theres a couple of JB's so sounds like Karingal or something like that.

Moe sounds good. Especially if it goes out to 600m and isnt as packed as Little River.

Yeah totally jealous of some of the guys on the Hide. 1200 yards off the balcony is just unfair. They shouldnt be allowed to flaunt that shit.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Ah shit, i take back what i said about where my mate lives, its not frankston he lives in its dandenong. Sorry my bad.

Moe/rosedale ranges will never get as packed as Little River as they are smaller F class clubs. You could also check out Geelong rifle club, its really close to little river, 1000m range, not sure on their policies though either ie; strictly F class shooting or not.

Cheers

Pete

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Dandy isnt much of an improvement on frankston :p

So is Moe strictly F Class? Because if it is im stuffed because i dont have an Omark.
Geelong could be good, Little River is near geelong so its still the same hike for a good 1k range.

I know Grantville said they'd let me on without an F Class rifle so once i get into contact with them ill definitley post some info up.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

lol. yeh Dandy is a little rough hey.

Moe is F class, but you dont have to shoot with an Omark to compete in F class. There is more then one discipline in F class too.

Check out this link,

http://www.ozfclass.com/rrr/index.html

It will take you to Rosedale rifle range website, scrow down the bottom and it gives a summary of different classes.

Basically Standard F-Class is any 223 or 308 cal rifle. Think you are limited to 155gr.

Open F-Class you have "Any calibre up to 8mm".

If you find out more about Grantville i'd love to know to.

Re: Any Victorians out there?

Ah yeah im not looking to get all into competition style shooting or anything so I doubt Rosedale would be any good for me.

I'll call the guy at Grantville on monday and talk to him about what exactly we can shoot. He sounded fairly OK with just plain shooting but i wasnt exactly sure.

Either way, i'll PM you the range details.
