    The first Weatherby I ever fired was in the early '90's. It was a Mark V Deluxe in 460. While the concussion inducing recoil left an impression, it was the beauty of that rifle that stuck with me. It had the deepest, darkest bluing I'd ever seen and had a stock that belonged in a museum. After nearly 30 years I finally got a Weatherby. It's a Mark V Deluxe in 257. Despite owning many AR's, Varmint and tactical style rifles this is my pride and joy;

    Do have a Weatherby Vanguard in .300 Wby Mag sitting in the safe. Bought it years ago as my elk and bigger rifle. That "concussion inducing recoil" was not an issue back then, but took it out to the range a week and a half ago and it seems to kick harder now. Either that or I'm getting fragile as I get older. May wind up sending it in to Weatherby for the an Accu-Break install.

    saw a collection of Weatherby's at a guys shop back in 1973. Fell in love with the craftsmanship then. Always wanted one. I now own 6 of them. Other than the 257 i give my oldest son, i've never shot them. Of course with as many guns as i own, that statement pretains to a lot of them :)
