Why play with simulated auto fire when you can have belt-feds?
I'd rather see us work to repeal the Hughes Amendment.... than waste time with these silly things.

I guess they have their place for guys who haven't shot full autos and want an almost taste of it. FA has its role and for the most part that's belt-fed as Sirhr said. I didn't find the M16 to be particularly useful in burst mode. The MP5SD was the nicest-handling shoulder fired FA that I shot.

I like to shoot, but I have enough problems watching dollar bills fly down range at 1 per minute that I don't think I could stand watching then fly down range at 600 per minute. Full auto sounds like fun, but only using someone else's ammo.
If you need this stock to bump fire your kind of weak. Although an AK is much easier to bump fire than an AR. After you do it a couple times as stated above you will come to the following conclusion. Huge waste of ammo. Not hitting a damn thing. Suppressive fire but not accurate, hits are what count. If your looking for a higher rate of fire you should look at either the Double tap or Echo triggers. But those are an accident waiting to happen if you drop your guard for just one sec.
Apart from what you spend blowing through ammo, I could never get over how much they are trying to get for those stocks. I mean if they were like 40 bucks I would probably have one for the hell of it but 150 bucks for a novelty, I'll pass. I did chuckle a little at first when they came out and they were trying to market the stocks as having some practicality to them
I humped the M-60 from time to time, my turn, back in the '60's, when Uncle Sugar was footing the ammo bill in SEA. Really, we didn't engage all that much when the 60 was in my hands, so my experience was limited. Even so, when we had them laid in, it was a very accurate short burst weapon. I just can't see a shaky-bakey bump-fire method delivering any great accuracy.
Back in the '80's I got to talk regularly to one of Rommel's Boys, an MG-42 gunner. He said they used the awesome rate of fire like a shotgun. A 5-8rd burst was over about as quick as they could get off the trigger, and it patterned like a load of buckshot. Apply, move to next target, apply, move, etc....
High rate of fire weapons are not really very useful in spray and pray modes. They overheat in a heartbeat, accuracy sucks right soon after opening up on a long rip, and the basic firearm becomes a noisy dirt pecker that fails to properly suppress and draws incoming.
...And then it simply goes inop and rightly so; long FA rips are an abuse of a precision firearm.
The Maxim Guns (on both sides) from WWI were a very different animal. They has a far slower cyclic, and they were also water cooled. They were employed as area denial weapons to shut down human wave attacks. They ran most of the day and night in some campaigns. Try that with an M-60, an M-240, or an M-249, and you will have mechanical filures pretty frequently. They were also very, very accurate in burst mode.
Go for the real deal, or not at all. Otherwise it's just Air Soft brought to a more expensive level.

Never owned or used one, with no interest to. If I want to sling rounds willy-nilly downrange, I'll hand my AR to my BIL, lol.
This, and it's not like they could have made it any uglier of a stock. Always plenty of used ones for sale on Armslist after the novelty wears off!

Several years ago i was at a local range shooting some steel when a couple boys wasted 150ish rounds through their AKs trying to hit a can of tannerite using those bumpfire stocks when they were brand new.
I waved one over and offered my bolt rifle with 1 round for him to hit it. I told him to get behind it and line up the crosshairs on the can, then i would shut the bolt and he could then pull the trigger. He couldnt believe the trigger (tuned 40x) and nice the glass was (mk4). My buddy and I still laugh about that when we are havin beers after hunting or shooting.
Maybe with more time to shoot, I will become better with an AR and like them more. Prolly not.....

I still have a NIB bumpfire stock when they came out and have not put it on. I look at it as a novelty only. And yet I still havn't put it on anything. I may make you a deal on the one I have. lol

I have a semi M2HB but being semi hardly limits that weapons system.
For AR's, are the Geissele 3gun and single stage triggers not fast enough? Technically they could be identified as full auto parts in WA state (since they are capable of firing 12 rounds in 3 seconds or something). A loose grip will result in auto fire. FWIW, the whole time I was in the army, and I was a shooter, I never used auto unless I was a SAW gunner or I was practicing a run 'n gun towards the target. Na, good Geissele triggers are all I need.

Apparently they are unaware that almost anything can shoot 12 in under 3. Hell Jerry Meculek can do 12 in 3 with a revolver. Brain dead people being in charge are very dangerous.
Ninety-nine percent of us would watch that vid and think WA needs to reevaluate its silly and poorly thought out laws.
Legislators in WA and Cal would think that this is how they are going to ban revolvers too. Jerry's fast shooting could be their eureka moment.

Shot the bumpfire on an M&P-15-22, it's a fun waste of time and money. All the cool kids these days are running the Double Tap trigger... 
...But actually, my uncle has one on his AR. It's decently controllable once you're used to it, costs less than a Geissele, and a great way to practice your "spray and pray" technique. Hell, who makes a rifle full-auto for accuracy? Just be sure to square up to it and lean in, it will put you back on your heels.

When ever I have someone at the range next to me doing a magazine dump I always think to myself..... what are they aiming at and what are they trying to accomplish other than wasting money....
The bump-fire is a gimmick, but the "double tap" trigger, which Boyscout618 mentioned, is an interesting solution to quick double taps and arguably more " accuracy efficient" than pulling the trigger twice in the normal fashion. I have a Franklin Arms Binary trigger and it is supper fast for 3-gun double taps

Never used one of these, but seems much more my speed. I guess it has to be 20yrs ago now that HK figured out that a 3rd burst was 1 too many and came out with the modified Navy trigger systems that allowed single, double, or FA. I only got to shoot one of those, but it was SLICK in double-tap mode.
Greg, with your lifetime of experience I wouldn't even dare to have that discussion with you. I'm hoping that amongst our common experiences we can agree that in some situations the more "metal on meat" the better.
Bogey; We agree just fine. We can always have a discussion without any real concern. I just keep hearing the Sergeants at ITR screaming about fire discipline, even after 50 years.

Definitely agreed my friend. I also think we've both seen first hand what happens to fire discipline on a two-way range. As much as I'll always keep "fire discipline" somewhere in my brain, I've become quite fond of "anything worth killing is worth over killing, and then maybe killing a again".
I built one using a Fostech AR15 with a Hyper Touch 24 trigger. The trigger is the most important component. Fast and light is required. Complete waste of ammo for sure but fun as hell. Works like a champ once you master the technique. With this setup you can lock it so it does not bump so it can be used as a regular AR15 lower. No problem with using 556 or 7.62x39 but be careful with the heaver AR15 calibers as they can be difficult to control for novice shooters. Shot my 6.5 Grendel on it but that got a bit scary! My Barrett M82A1 is still king for wasting money!
