I saw this and was wondering if anybody has used one before. Maxim Roller delayed buffer for an AR9.
Says it has a softer recoil than a regular blow back. Also says you have to take the weight out of your bolt.
Seems like it might be a cool upgrade for not a ton of money.
I have shot a JP5 and the Sig MPX and liked them both because of how little they move when running.

I had one and ran it for a bit for USPSA PCC. It's a noticeable improvement over direct blowback, but the biggest downside is that it can be a real pain to run the charging handle. It will not turn your blowback gun into a JP5 or Mean Arms, but it'll get you partway there for a lot less money. I'd recommend the Mean Arms if it's in the budget.

Mean looks pretty nice, but damn that's expensive.

Yeah, 1500 for an upper is pretty steep but it is actually worth it. If you've already got a blowback AR9 and you don't want to take the leap, I'd absolutely throw in the maxim and see if it works for you. The Mean is better, but if you're just playing around then the maxim will get you partway there.

Yes, that buffer does make a difference, but what was said about running the charging handle was true. I wound up putting together a CMMG radial delayed rig. It was relatively cheap and it runs really well. Not as smooth as roller delayed, but much better than straight blowback.
